After a disastrous first few years, the Shahrukh Khan co-owned franchise made it to the playoff in 2011 before putting up a scintillating show in 2012 to lift its maiden title. KKR followed this up with another title in 2014. They were, however, restrained from reaching the finals in 2016 and 2017.

Kolkata Knight Riders need to bring their 'A' game to the fore to stay in the race for a playoffs spot this year. Led by Dinesh Karthik, the men in purple have been inconsistent throughout the tournament and will be hoping to turn the tide in the coming games.

IPL 2012- Beat Delhi Daredevils by 18 runs in Qualifier 1; Beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in the Final

IPL 2014- Beat Kings XI Punjab by 28 runs in Qualifier 1; Beat Kings XI Punjab by 3 wickets in the Final

IPL 2016- Lost by 22 runs to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator

IPL 2017- Beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets (D/L) in the Eliminator; Lost by 6 wickets to Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2
