IPL to be screened overseas : Lalit Modi

What is Lalit Modi going to do next? The man is planning to screen IPL matches in overseas countries. Yes, it’s true. Lalit Modi is probably not sleeping at night these days. He is extremely busy. Innovate! Innovate! His head is spinning with ideas and grand plans, it seems.

IPL fans overseas now have the opportunity to watch all the IPL action live in cinema halls in their countries. In fact, if the deal goes forward, Modi has plans to turn the screenings into 3D.

Mr. Lalit Modi, the Chairman of the IPL is in talks with UK and other Western countries to screen the IPL live in theaters. What more do you need? He has plans to screen the matches in bars, restaurants and other places where the ‘cool crowd’ hang out.

With this decision Modi says that given the huge popularity of IPL, it could target cricket crazy fans all over the globe. The nature of the broadcast will be the same as continuous TV broadcast with no commercial ads.

Modi late last year had also signed deals to screen IPL matches live all over India but now he has taken a step ahead.

Everyone is now waiting for Modi’s next step. First he planned a live broadcast on Youtube. Next in theaters in India. Now overseas. What else is this superhero going to do?

If it were up to me, I’d tell him that he needs to catch his breath. The IPL is the only crazily viewed league all over the world. Take a rest.
