The 2004 ICC U-19 World Cup was held in Bangladesh, in which Shikhar Dhawan played for India and finished as the leading run-scorer of the tournament. He scored a total of 505 runs from 7 innings, which is a record for a single tournament and still, that is unbroken.

With three tons and a fifty, he scored at an average of 84.16. He was named the Player of the Tournament for his spectacular performance. From the very beginning, he showcased his power and his destructive nature of batting, which made him a nightmare for the opponent bowlers.
