Kenya will host Nigeria in a seven-match T20I series. The rubber starts on Friday, July 12, with the last game scheduled for Saturday, July 20. All the seven matches will be played at the Sikh Union Club Ground in Nairobi.
Kenya last featured in a quadrangular series against Malawi, Zambia, and Rwanda. They won eight out of their nine matches in the series and finished on top of the table. The final against Malawi was abandoned due to rain.
Nigeria last played a T20I match in the African Games in March this year. They were placed in Group B with Zimbabwe A, Namibia, and Tanzania. Nigeria won one from three matches and finished fourth in the points tally.
This will be the first bilateral series between the two African countries. They last faced off in a T20I match in November last year in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifier. Kenya won that game.
Nigeria’s only win against Kenya in T20Is came in the Uganda T20 Tri-Series in 2021. They won by four runs by the DLS method after posting a total of 133 runs for the loss of five wickets on the board.
Kenya are currently 32nd in the ICC T20I Team Rankings with rating points of 105. Nigeria are in the 37th position with a rating of 77.
