Dinesh Karthik has been a part of Indian ODI and T20 setup for a while now. The magical cameo in the final of the Nidahas Trophy can be termed as the turning point in his career. That innings and the brilliant IPL 2018 have made him a bright contender for world cup squad. While he has been playing some handy innings in the T-20's, he hasn't been very good in the ODIs. It came as a bit of surprise when he was preferred over Kedar Jadhav, who also provided a bowling option.

The move didn't work as DK wasn't able to support Rohit and got out at a crucial juncture. He got another chance and this time he got the perfect platform where he had to just get going and he delivered big time. This has been the case with Karthik. He can be a good finisher but can't stabilize the innings. When it comes to a combination of both, Jadhav can be a better option.
