KKR captain Gautam Gambhir won't travel with team to Pune due to sickness

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir on Wednesday said he would not be travelling with the team to Pune as he is suffering from a stomach bug and fever.

He tweeted:

Not travelling to Pune with @KKRiders today. Cramps, weakness and fever...bad timing. Living on khichdee and curd-rice...

Confirming the news to IANS, Gambhir's manager Dinesh Chopra said, “He is not travelling with the team, he is down with a stomach bug and fever.”

Earlier, the southpaw, who has been in rollicking form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with two back-to-back 50s, had wished KKR fans on the Bengali New Year.

But with the match scheduled on April 18, the KKR captain still has time to recover and take the field on Saturday against Kings XI Punjab.
