Nathan Lyon, Tim Paine explain Finch's decision to not use DRS
Aaron Finch's decision to not go for a DRS review, when replays suggested that there seemed to be no bat or glove involved in his dismissal created quite a stir on day four. However, Nathan Lyon and captain Tim Paine explained the reason behind that decision and also clarified that even if he went for a review, it wouldn't have been overturned.
“I don’t think he was going to get away with it,” said Nathan Lyon. “I’ve spoken to the third umpire (Chris Gaffaney) who said it was out or there was inconclusive evidence to overturn the decision. Finchy’s fine, and it’s been a great learning curve for Aaron. He’ll take a lot out of this first Test match at home and he’ll be better for the run.”
“It’s one of those things. You can't do much about it. We have been told Aaron's (Finch’s dismissal) for instance would still not have been overturned,” Paine said.“Aaron felt something on his glove, it ended up being his pad, that can happen."
