The “Master Blaster” Sachin Tendulkar is an inspiration for many fans and cricketers. He is also Virat Kohli‘s hero.

Virat, thus, just cannot imagine about the retirement of his “hero” Sachin Tendulkar. In a interview with a world renowned TV channel Virat said,

“I feel frightened whenever I try to think about Sachin’s retirement. Sachin’s retirement will be very hard to digest for the nation’s cricket fans. I don’t know my feelings about this. I also don’t know Sachin’s feelings with it. Probably, when Sachin will declare his retirement, I will end up crying.”

Alongside Sachin’s retirement, he was also asked about whether the experienced openers Goutam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag, will be able to make a comeback into the national side.

Virat also expressed his disappointment in this matter.

“It is quite weird to think that Gambhir and Sehwag are out of the national team.”

said the talented Delhi-based middle-order batsman.

No Indian national cricketer had previously commented about the IPL spot fixing scandal. Yesterday, Virat became the first cricketer to open his mouth on this matter. He said

“The IPL spot fixing scandal has really spoiled Indian cricket’s image in front of the international audience.”

But, Virat believes that the fixing scandal didn’t damage the morale of the Indian players. He thinks that India’s answer to the the spot-fixing scandal was the Champion’s Trophy win.

After the champions trophy, Team India also won the series against Zimbabwe (5-0) under Kohli’s leadership.

Virat also expressed his desire to play against South Africa. He said

“It would really be dissappointing if the series against South Africa is cancelled”

He became the second player after Dale Steyn to say in support of the South Africa Tour. Kohli belwives that it will “set the standards of the young Indian team.” In a promotional event in New Delhi, Virat said

“South Africa is something we are looking forward to. This tournament will set the standards of the Indian team. We are hoping to get to get a few games there, I cant say any more than that.”

Kohli added that the Australian tour would be very important for the team.

“We are excited and hope to get a good start to the season. The Aussies have always been a good side and we cannot just take them lightly.”

As far as Yuvraj Singh’s comeback was concerned, Kohli stated

“I was never doubtful about Yuvi’s comeback into the side. He has always been a good player. I’m really happy for him.”
