Virat Kohli wished former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on his birthday via a tweet. The Prince of Calcutta celebrated his 42nd birthday on July 8.
Kohli also had wished his team India skipper and Men In Blue colleague MS Dhoni on his birthday on July 7. Social networking website was trending on Mahi's 33rd birthday. And what would be bigger than, when Twitter's second-most followed Indian athlete (Kohli) wishes the third-most, which is MSD.
Team India kickstart their tour of England on July 9, with the 1st Test of the five-match series. MS Dhoni's boys take on the hosts at Nottingham today, and Kohli is crucial to the Indian thinktank's plans.
Prior to this, Kohli has never featured in a Test match on English soil. His inexperience of the seaming English conditions may be a hindrance. But critics have tipped the Delhi lad to be a star for India in the Test series.
And if former India player turned pundit Sanjay Manjrekar is to be believed, then Virat will notch three tons in the Test series.
Last time India toured England for a Test series in 2011, they had been handed a 4-0 drubbing. And this time around, it is upto MS Dhoni and his boys to make some amendments. Maybe learn from birthday boy Sourav Ganguly, and the way his India team fought for a 1-1 draw in 2002. Or even better aim for a series win, following the likes of Rahul Dravid, Kapil Dev or Ajit Wadekar.
