The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders new jersey for the eighth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) has a set of new sponsors with Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, Gionee as principle sponsor. As soon as new jerseys were revealed, KKR fans started a trending topic ‘Love The New KKR Jersey’ on Twitter.
The team's official colours were black and gold during the first two seasons. It was later changed to purple and gold during the third season and was kept so. In 2012, a new logo, which consist of a blazing purple Corinthian helmet trimmed with gold, with Kolkata Knight Rider written within a shield has been introduced.
