Mysore, July 24, 2015: In line with its vision to nurture sporting talent in the country, NR Group, the owners of Mysuru Warriors today announced that they will be holding a player selection camp in Bangalore on 24th July 2015 and in Mysore on 3rd August 2015.
Names of players selected in Bangalore will be recommended to be included in the auction. The event is especially for players from Bangalore and adjoining areas.
The Mysore event is aimed at fostering cricketing talent in the catchment areas, the camp will provide an opportunity for players from smaller towns to enter the professional cricketing arena. Conducted at SDNR formerly known as Gangothri Glades, the camp is open to all players from KSCA registered clubs in Mandya, Coorg, Mysore, Chamrajnagar and Kollegal. The selected players will get a chance to represent Mysuru Warriors and play at the upcoming KPL- 2015.
Speaking about the player selection camp, Mr. Arjun Ranga- Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies said, “Our country is blessed with great sporting talent. However, due to lack of opportunities they often go unrecognised. Through this camp, we intend to spot good cricketers from rural Karnataka and provide them a platform to grow and prove themselves. Our team will be a good mix of national talent as well as grass root talent from the region.”
Last year 5 players were selected from the similar talent hunt and who went and became quality players to the state. Mysuru Warriors Captain Mr. Manish Pandey has carved a niche for himself in the international cricket arena. Mr. J. Suchith one of the key players of Mysuru Warriors team was instrumental in the winning of Mumbai Indian team.

The camp begins at 8 am and 5 players from each club registered under KSCA will compete for the selection process. The players are advised to carry with them their KSCA statistics of 2014-15 and their kits. Ball will be provided.
Modelled on the lines of IPL, the 20-20 tournament is organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and will witness competition between 8 teams. Started in 2009, the Karnataka Premier League is now in its fourth season will commence on September1st2015. The first phase of the tournament will be hosted at Mysore followed by Hubli. The finals will be held in Mysore.
