Lanka Premier League 2024: Full schedule, squads, match timings and live-streaming details

The Lanka Premier League 2024 (LPL) is the franchise cricket tournament that will be organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket board. The tournament is scheduled to start on Monday, July 1, and will conclude on Sunday, July 21.

Michael Clarke has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the tournament. The tournament will witness two "power-blast overs" during each completed innings. These special overs, occurring in the 16th and 17th positions, will permit a maximum of four fielders outside the 30-yard circle.

A total of five teams will participate in this event. Each team will face the other four teams twice in the league phase. The league phase will be followed by the playoffs. A total of 24 matches are scheduled to take place in the tournament. The tournament will be held in venues like R. Premadasa Stadium, Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

The five teams are: B-Love Kandy, Dambulla Sixers, Jaffna Kings, Galle Marvels, and Colombo Strikers.

Imperial Sports Group acquired Dambulla Aura and rebranded it as Dambulla Thunders. However, the LPL ended Dambulla Thunders' contract due to co-owner Tamim Rahman's arrest on match-fixing charges. Subsequently, Sequoia Consultants via DeSilva Holdings took over the Dambulla franchise and changed its name to Dambulla Sixers.

Cricket Marvels LLC, owned by Prem Thakkar, acquired the Galle Titans franchise, leading to its rebranding as Galle Marvels.
