Technically, Azhar Ali made a late entry into the world of cricket. He is currently the oldest active Test cricketer from Pakistan. However, his form has never been affected regardless of time and format. He played an unbeaten innings of 302 runs in the day and night Test match between Pakistan and West Indies on 13 October 2016.

The Dubai International Cricket Ground witnessed the creation of 3 records in just 1 inning in that match. Azhar Ali became the 29th player to score a triple century in the longest format of the game.
