The 31-year-old was scheduled to undergo surgery on his knee which acted up during a recent training session with the national Super50 squad.

“Brown has been complaining for a while now about his knee and the doctors have advised that surgery is the best thing to do. He has a floating bone inside his knee which whenever he bowls, causes discomfort and the hope is that with this operation it will be rectified,” said national coach Junior Bennett Tuesday.

The surgery is expected to rule out Brown for up to six weeks, excluding him from the Super50, scheduled to get underway Jan 30 in Trinidad and Tobago.

“The surgery should rule him out for about 4-6 weeks which means that he will definitely miss the one-day tournament. He could, however, make a return for the first class tournament which does not start until Feb 22. It’s just a matter of getting the operation done and once successful, to begin the process of rehabilitation,” Bennett said.
