Mahela Jayawardene celebrates birthday at Old Trafford

Sri Lankan cricketer Mahela Jayawardene celebrated his 37th birthday at the home of his favourite football club Manchester United on Tuesday. According to a tweet posted by the right-handed batsman, the plan to celebrate his birthday at Old Trafford was the brainchild of his wife Christina Mallika Sirisena.

Jayawardene also received a Manchester United jersey (seen below), signed by the recently retired club legend Ryan Giggs, who will be the assistant manager to Louis van Gaal next season for the Red Devils. You can also some of his Sri Lankan team mates standing behind him in that picture.

The 6th-highest scorer in Test cricket is currently with the Sri Lankan cricket team, who are on a tour of England. They are currently playing a 5-match ODI series against the hosts, which will be followed by a 2-match Test series. The ODI series is currently tied 1-1.
