Mayank Agarwal is an Indian cricketer, who plays the role of an opening batter for his team. He has represented Team India at the international level. He plays for Karnataka in the domestic circuit and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.In the 2023 IPL auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for INR 8.25 crore. Agarwal was retained by Sunrisers in the 2024 IPL as well.

Mayank Agarwal made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2011. In the next nine years (2011-2019), Mayank played for multiple franchises like Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2011-13), Delhi Daredevils (2014-16), Rising Pune Supergiants (2017), and Punjab Kings (2018-22). In that period (2011-19), he scored only 1266 runs and couldn’t get any breakthrough season for the franchises. Barring the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Agarwal hasn't made any significant contribution with the bat. In IPL 2020, Agarwal scored 106 against Rajasthan Royals to record his highest individual score in the tournament.Ahead of the 2022 IPL season, Punjab Kings retained him for INR 12 crore and also declared him the captain of their team. But Mayank couldn’t perform as per the expectations of the franchise and his team failed to qualify for the playoffs. In addition, he hasn’t made any impact with the bat and scored only 196 runs at an average of 16.33. Due to this, Punjab Kings released him from their squad ahead of the 2023 IPL auction.As mentioned before, in the 2023 IPL auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad bagged his services and bought him for INR 8.25 crore. Mayank performed decently and scored 270 runs at an average of 27.00. In the 2024 IPL, he is going to play for the same franchise (Sunrisers Hyderabad).

Delhi Capitals roped in the Karnataka batter for INR 1.60 crore in the 2014 IPL auction. Agarwal was traded to Rising Pune Supergiants from the Capitals in the trading window of the 2017 IPL. Even though there was a bit of lengthy bidding for Agarwal in the 2018 mega IPL auction, he was sold to Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) for INR 1 crore.
