Meg Lanning
Earlier today, Australian women’s cricket team captain Meg Lanning broke the record of scoring the most number of runs in an innings in a women’s Twenty20 Internationals in the on-going match against Ireland in Women’s World T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. Meg played a breath-taking innings on her way to 126 runs off just 65 balls, which included 18 boundaries and 4 towering sixes.
The previous record was held by South African Shandre Fritz who had scored 116 not-out against Netherlands in 2010.
However, the most spectacular of these innings was played by West Indian Deandra Dottin, who ranks third in the list after having destroyed the South African bowling in 2010, when she scored 112 not-out of just 47 deliveries, at an amazing strike-rate of 248.88.
