Today sees a mouth-watering clash of two of the best sides in the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhade Stadium. Champions Mumbai will look to resurrect their campaign after two losses in their three games. Their batting line up doesn’t seem to be in great form and have not been able give the best start in their last two games. The Mumbai franchise experimented with their batting line up and that did not pay dividends. For them to be in the game, captain Rohit Sharma needs to open along with Martin Guptill and provide them a foundation to build on.
RCB on the other have had a great run with the bat with consistent performances by Kohli and AB putting up 190 plus totals on both occasions, but their bowling has been their main undoing. The inexperienced bowling line-up spearheaded by Shane Watson has been taken to the cleaners in both the games as they gave away 180 against SRH and lost to DD even after putting up 190 on the board. RCB are dearly missing their pace spearhead Mitchell Starc who is missing for the whole IPL due to injury.
When it comes the head to head out of the 17 games RCB has won 8 and MI has a slight edge with 9 wins.
