#2. Joe Root becomes the English batsman with most ODI hundreds

Joe Root was a nemesis for India in the ODI series

After a mediocre series against depleted Australian lineup, Root roared back to form against India in style and yet again answered his critics. He scored back to back centuries in the 2nd and 3rd ODI respectively.

He took his tally of ODI hundreds to 13 which is the most by a batsman for England. He surpassed the record of Marcus Trescothick (2000-2006) who had scored 12 ODI hundreds in his career playing for England. Of his contemporary English counterparts, he is followed by England ODI captain, Eoin Morgan (10 ODI hundreds).

For his record-breaking performance, Root fetched man-of-the-series award in the ODI series and also achieved a career-best second position in the latest ODI batsman rankings.
