Misbah-ul-Haq wishes to play against India before retiring

Pakistan are on the verge of losing Misbah-ul-Haq to retirement

Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s skipper, has expressed his desire to play for India before he retires. With much speculations over BCCI officially inviting Pakistan for a series in India this coming December, Misbah wishes to play one final series against the arch-rivals before he leaves the cricket arena, according to Cricbuzz.

BCCI have officially invited Pakistan to play a bilateral series in India in December. But according to the Memorandum of Understanding, its Pakistan’s turn to host a bilateral series in UAE after India hosted it twice already in 2007 and in 2012.

However, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan has declined BCCI’s invitation as he said, “As far as our chances of playing in India goes, I would say there is no chance. We have already gone twice in 2007 and 2012, this time around we want it in our home venue, which is UAE. Even the IPL is hosted in UAE, there is no logical explanation for India not to play there.”

“It is my desire to play a series against India before I retire and as far as retirement is concerned I have taken no decision on it. When I do I will inform the cricket board (PCB) about it” Misbah told journalists on Saturday.

No logical reason why India would not want to play in UAE: PCB

Misbah has already been in news for his retirement for quite a long time now, and reports suggest that the PCB have asked the 41 year old to postpone his plans and lead Pakistan in England next year.

Misbah, who is still not sure about his retirement plans said, “If I decide to go to England I will go there fully prepared and I would also like to see our team go there ready for the challenge. Our team is capable of winning anywhere.”

Misbah has recently signed with a team in Bangladesh Premier League to keep his confidence intact before he goes to England

His wish to play against India before retirement looks more of a dream since India and Pakistan can’t seem to come to an agreement regarding the bilateral series. PCB Chairman was disappointed by India’s decision to not play in UAE, and he said, “We are sad that India doesn’t want to play in UAE, there is no logical reason why they shouldn’t.”

We hope to see another nail biting contest between the two nations. It has always been a clash of the titans when the two countries take on each other. Misbah would be looking forward to an agreement between the two boards so that he can retire in peace after his wish is fulfilled.
