The former Indian star Gautam Gambhir is one of IPL's most successful players and captains. Gambhir recently retired from all formats of the game and will not be seen in IPL 2019.

The 37-year-old started his IPL career with Delhi Daredevils and then moved on to Kolkata Knight Riders, where he had seven successful years. He led them to two IPL titles - 2012 and 2014. He then moved back to Delhi Daredevils for IPL 2018 but had a poor outing.
Gambhir has scored 4217 runs in 154 IPL games at an average of 31.23 and a strike rate of 124. With 36 fifties, he has played some memorable knocks in the tournament. Not a natural six-hitter, Gambhir focussed a lot on scoring fours. He has struck a total of 491 fours in the tournament, which is currently the best by any player in IPL.
