Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene is at the numero uno spot when it comes to scoring the most number of fours in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The former Lankan opener racked up 111 fours during his 31-inning T20 World Cup career.
However, his days at the top are numbered, as the legendary Virat Kohli is on the brink of overhauling the Sri Lankan maestro.
Kohli, who is set to feature in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States of America, has hammered 103 fours in just 25 innings across the past five editions.
Former Sri Lankan opener T Dilshan is in the third spot. The inventor of the “DilScoop” sent the ball past the boundary line on 101 instances during his 34-match T20 WC career.
Indian opener Rohit Sharma, who has featured in each edition of the T20 World Cup thus far, is at the fourth spot. The current Indian skipper has scored 91 fours during his 36-inning career in the past 17 years.
The top five is rounded out by swashbuckling Aussie opener David Warner, who has smashed 86 fours in his T20 World Cup career. The southpaw will look to add to his tally in the upcoming event in the West Indies and the United States of America.
