A lot of players in the current Indian set-up owe their careers to MS Dhoni for believing in them and backing them even if they were failing on a consistent basis.
Indian vice-captain in limited-overs formats, Rohit Sharma are two of the finest examples for this. Ever since making his debut, Rohit was very inconsistent and was in and out of the side.
But, he had the potential to succeed and when Indian openers were failing in ODIs, Dhoni gave Rohit the nod in ODIs and the rest, as they say, is history as Rohit went on to become one of the best ODI batsmen around.
Apart from Rohit, India skipper Virat Kohli, openers Murali Vijay and Shikar Dhawan, spin-twins in Tests, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, pacers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav etc. A set of fans would be eager to know why Dhoni backed these players in spite of them failing regularly.
