With N Srinivasan’s nomination as ICC chief reconfirmed by BCCI, the annual meet of cricket’s apex body, which will take place on June 24 in Melbourne, will see the discussion of his appointment as the head of ICC along with the upcoming 2015 World Cup.
Srinivasan is all set to become the Chairman of the sport’s biggest governing body after the conclusion of the meet on June 28th with all the Full Council expected to give a nod to the amendment in ICC Constitution which were agreed by the board in a meeting on February 8, 2014 in Singapore.
The meeting will see both Associates and Affiliate members meet to discuss Srinivasan’s appointment as the head of the apex body along with an update on post-2015 commercial rights strategy.
The meeting will be presided by ICC president Alan Isaac, vice-president Mustafa Kamal and chief executive David Richardson, will have nominated representatives of the 10 full members plus three elected associate member representatives.
The meeting will also witness some other important issues being discussed which also includes an annual report from the chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) and recommendations on cricket and development matters from recent committee meetings and the ICC Associate Membership application from Oman.
The meet is duly supported by Cricket Australia, the Government of Victoria and the Melbourne Cricket Club.
