Nepal Cricket team off to Sri Lanka for preparations

Nepal National Men’s cricket team left today for Sri Lanka for the preparation camp for the upcoming ACC Emerging Teams Cup Cricket Tournament to be held in Singapore from coming August 17 to 25, 2013. Nepal team will practice at Sri Lanka and play various friendly matches with various Sri Lankan teams.

Nepali team lead by influencial skipper Parash Khadka consists of Gyanendra Malla (vice capt.), Sharad Bheswakar, Abinash Karna, Prithu Banskota, Shakti Gauchan, Rahul Biswakarma, Basant Regmi, Ramnaresh Giri, Pradip Giri, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Chandra Saud and Anil Mandal. Nepal´s Sri Lankan coach Pubudu Dasanayake is accompanying the team along with team officials from Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Nepal team will be in Sri Lanka unitl August 16, 2013 before heading to Singapore for the ACC Emerging Teams Cup Cricket Tournament.

Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan are placed in Group A in the ACC Emerging Team Cup Cricket Tournament while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE and the host country Singapore are placed in Group B. The matches will be played in 50 overs. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are fielding their under-23 side in the ACC Emerging Team Cup Cricket Tournament.
