"Aap hi boliye" - Sanjay Manjrekar, Irfan Pathan spar over horrible Virat Kohli-Yashasvi Jaiswal mix-up on Day 2 of 4th BGT 2024-25 Test

India v England - ICC Men
Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup India 2023 between India and England at BRSABVE Cricket Stadium on October 29, 2023 in Lucknow, India.

Former India players Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan, now plying their trades in the commentary box, were embroiled in a minor fiasco while discussing the mix-up that led to Yashasvi Jaiswal's run-out earlier on Friday, December 27. The event turned a bit heated before cooling down.

The incident being described on the post-match show was the horrible mix-up between Jaiswal and Virat Kohli which eventually led to the former being run out on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test between India and Australia. In the 41st over of the innings, Jaiswal tucked a ball from Scott Boland to mid-on and called for a run.

Although he had set off without waiting for Kohli's response at the other end, the latter turned his back on him and was guilty of ball-watching. In the meantime, Jaiswal arrived briskly at the non-striker's end. Both batters then found themselves at the same end.

A throw then came in from Pat Cummins at mid on which wicketkeeper Alex Carey collected and used to whip the bails off. Jaiswal, who was batting brilliantly, had to depart for 82, which came off just 118 balls and included 11 boundaries and one six.

During the post-match talk show, Manjrekar and Pathan, dissecting the run-out, got into a heated exchange regarding their opinion on who was in the wrong. While Manjrekar was keen on making his point, Pathan appeared riled up to mention that opinions were being mentioned here, and not what was right or wrong.

"Aap hi boliye [Fine, you go ahead and speak]," said Manjrekar when Pathan was trying to home in his point.
