Team India seamer Mohammed Siraj will ply his trade for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. He was signed by the franchise for a whopping ₹12.25 crore at the recently concluded IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
With the new deal, Siraj's seven-year stint with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has to an end. The pacer shared an emotional note on social media, bidding adieu to the team.
GT's ace Afghan spinner Rashid Khan reacted to Siraj's post by saying that the fast bowler now belongs to Gujarat and adding heart emojis. He commented:
"Ab tu hamara huaaaaa (Now you are ours)."
It is worth mentioning that GT won an intense bidding war against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) to snap up Mohammed Siraj at the IPL 2025 auction. RCB had the option to use the Right to Match (RTM) option for the bowler, but they decided not to.
"No matter where you are, we'll only have love and warmth for you" - RCB's message to Mohammed Siraj
RCB's social media team also reacted to Mohammed Siraj's heartfelt note. The franchise hailed the 30-year-old for being an inspiration both on and off the field for the team's fans.
RCB commented:
"Dear Miyan Magic, you’ve been a superstar, an inspiration and pure joy, both on and off the field. From the time you debuted in the RCB colours in 2018, to that magical year in the UAE and up until our last match of 2024, you always gave your 100%, and that’s something nobody can take away from you. No matter where you are, we’ll only have love and warmth for you. We will miss you, Siraj. And we know the entire 12th Man Army will, too."
It is worth mentioning that Siraj is the third-highest wicket-taker for RCB in IPL history. He has bagged 83 wickets from 87 matches at an economy rate of 8.60.
