Sam Konstas came into the limelight after his fantastic half-century on Test debut against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. However, he could not continue in the same vein for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.
Opening the batting for Sydney Thunder against Hobart Hurricanes on January 10, Sam Konstas lost his wicket for just four runs. The youngster opened the innings with veteran batter David Warner. Both openers did not seem comfortable against the Hobart bowlers at the Bellerive Oval.
Desperate for a boundary after managing only four runs off eight balls, Sam Konstas went for a big shot off a short ball bowled by Riley Meredith. The ball was down the leg-side and could have traveled for four had Konstas connected well. However, the ball hit him on his gloves and went straight to wicketkeeper Matthew Wade.

Sydney Thunder lose another wicket after the dismissal of Sam Konstas
Batting first, Sydney Thunder have failed to gain momentum in their ongoing Big Bash League fixture against the Hobart Hurricanes. After losing Konstas in the powerplay, the Sydney-based BBL team also lost the wicket of No. 3 batter Matthew Gilkes. Chris Jordan dismissed him caught behind for nine runs off seven balls.
David Warner has held one end and was batting at 41 runs off 35 balls at the time of writing. Oliver Davies has joined Warner in the middle. At the halfway mark, Sydney Thunder's score read 65/2. With Riley Meredith and Chris Jordan having a total of five overs left in the innings, it will be challenging for Thunder to post a big score on the board.
