"Already Mumbai ka hawa lag gaya" - Ambati Rayudu's hilarious comment on new MI signing's latest post on social media

Ambati Rayudu recently posted a hilarious comment on pacer Deepak Chahar's latest Instagram post. The right-arm bowler shared a few pictures of himself after getting a fresh haircut from celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim.

Reacting to Chahar's post, the former India cricketer cheekily suggested that the seamer has already been influenced by Mumbai city's lifestyle. Chahar is set to ply his trade for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

His seven-year stint with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ended after he was roped in by the Mumbai-based side for ₹9.25 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Chahar was recently in Mumbai, where he visited Aalim Hakim's salon.

Giving fans a glimpse of his new look, the 32-year-old wrote:

"Mumbai trip is incomplete without meeting magician @aalimhakim ."

Ambati Rayudu and Deepak Chahar joined CSK in 2018 and shared the dressing room for several years. Rayudu was part of MI for eight years before being picked by Chennai.

The right-handed batter announced his retirement from international cricket on May 29, 2023. Following his retirement, he featured in tournaments like Major League Cricket and Caribbean Premier League.

"I'll be playing for another great franchise which has won five IPL trophies" - Deepak Chahar on playing for MI

Deepak Chahar said he would have loved to continue his long-standing association with CSK. He, however, mentioned that he doesn't have any regrets and is happy to be picked by MI, who also have five IPL titles to their name like Chennai.

Speaking to JioCinema after the IPL 2025 auction, Chahar said (via Business Standard):

"I’m quite happy. I had hoped to continue with CSK, but no regrets. Now, I’ll be playing for another great franchise which has won five IPL trophies. I’ll obviously miss playing with MS Dhoni. Mumbai Indians is a great franchise, so I’m really looking forward to playing for them."

Deepak Chahar has picked up 77 wickets from 81 matches at an economy rate of 7.98 in his IPL career.
