Gaur Stadium, Ghaziabad, played hosts to a double-header for the 2024 Arunachal Premier League on Monday, September 9. The Siang Sharks got their campaign going with a domineering eight-wicket win over the Tawan Tigers in the third encounter of the season.
The fourth game of the tournament was declared a no-result as rain played spoilsport. It resulted in a point each being shared between Dirang Dragons and Kameng Strikers.
The Siang Shark won their opening encounter of the campaign against the Tawan Tigers. After the completion of four games this season, they top the proceedings with a win and two points so far. They occupy the first position with the tournament-best net run rate of +5.6.
Kamle Cobras and Pare Warriors slipped down one place each after tonight’s round of games. They occupy the second and third spots with two points each in one match with net run rates of +2.462 and +0.46, respectively.
Kameng Strikers scored their first points of the season after the abandonment of their game against Dirang Dragons. They sit in fourth place with one point in two matches and a net run rate of -0.46. Dirang Dragons lie in the fifth position with the same number of points as Strikers. However, a slightly inferior net run rate of -2.462 places them further down on the leaderboard.
Tawang Tigers, after a hefty loss against Siang Sharks, see themselves at the rock bottom of the points chart, occupying the sixth spot. They have zero points and a net run rate of -5.6 after one game this season.

A disciplined bowling effort by the Siang Sharks bowled out the Tawang Tigers for a hapless first innings total of 115 in 19.1 overs in the first game of the day. Tigers opener Ngurang Tana (38 of 24) gave his team a blazing start. However, it was in vain as Siang bowlers Sonu Singh (3/18) and Ankur Rai (2/23) pounced upon the Tawang batting lineup.
In reply, the Siang Sharks chased the required target with ease, riding on a 43-ball 96* by Kaushal Singh. His brilliant knock helped his side win the match by eight wickets and a total of 10 overs to spare. Singh’s innings were laced with 12 boundaries and half a dozen maximums, batting at a strike rate of 223.26.
In the second match of the day between Dirang Dragons and Kameng Strikers, the former side elected to bat first, racing to 63/2 in just 5.2 overs. However, persistent rain showers resulted in the fourth fixture of the tournament being called off, with the Dragons and Strikers sharing one point each.
