Miscreants online have edited Australian opening batter Sam Konstas' Wikipedia page, writing that the 19-year-old is Team India batting ace Virat Kohli's father. The two players mentioned above are currently playing the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Sam Konstas became Australia's 468th Test player today (Thursday, December 26) when he made his debut against India. Opening the innings, he went all guns blazing against the Indian bowling attack whilst attempting some audacious shots. Amid all of this, he was also involved in an on-field shoulder brush with Virat Kohli, who bumped into the opener and had a few words to say.
Following the incident, fans online expressed their displeasure at Kohli's actions. A few miscreants have logged into Konstas' Wikipedia page and made edits, calling him Virat Kohli's father.
Take a look at the same below:
Sam Konstas played a fine knock on debut. He scored 60 runs off 65 balls, courtesy of six boundaries and two maximums. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja managed to prize the debutant's wicket (LBW) in the 20th over of the first innings.
Australia in pole position after electing to bat first in the BGT 2024-25 4th Test
On Thursday, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first against India. Opener Sam Konstas (60 off 65) provided a fine start to the hosts before being trapped in front of the sticks by Ravindra Jadeja. Since then, Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja have been in the middle, testing the patience of the visitors, scoring 54 runs for the second wicket.
Australia are 143/1 after 41 overs, with the two batters still going strong. The five-match Test series between India and Australia stands at 1-1, with both teams aiming for a win in this Test and hoping to secure a place in the ICC World Test Championship final.
