Fans online lauded Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who scored an invaluable 77 off 123 balls on Day 4 (Tuesday, December 17) of the third Border-Gavaskar 2024-25 Test against Australia in Brisbane. The 36-year-old returned to the Indian XI after missing the opening two Tests in favor of Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Jadeja struggled with the ball, evidenced by his figures of 0/95 in 22 overs, as Australia piled on 445 in their first innings. However, he came to the party with the bat when India were struggling at 74/5.

With rain interruptions playing spoilsport for most of the Test match, India's main task was to reach 246 to avoid the follow-on. Jadeja's 77 went a long way in helping India close in on that total.

After striking seven boundaries and a maximum, the southpaw was eventually dismissed by a short ball from Pat Cummins as he looked to protect the tail. Nevertheless, Jadeja's heroics helped India eventually avoid the follow-on at the end of Day 4, thanks to which India are likely to escape with a draw.
