The first semi-final of the Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 was played between the Kolkata Royal Tigers and the Sobisco Smashers Malda Batting first, the Tigers were restricted to a total of 105/9 in their 20 overs. Skipper Abhishek Porel (29) and Sandeep Tomar (21) made notable contributions for them.
Smashers' skipper Mukesh Kumar led from the front with the ball, picking up five wickets in his four overs. In reply, Writtick Chatterjee scored an unbeaten half-century (50*) while Writtam Porel scored 42 runs as the Smashers got over the line with ease, winning by six wickets.
The second semi-final saw the Medinipur Wizards post a total of 144/6 against the Murshidabad Kings after batting first. Priyanshu Gaurav Srivastav carried his good form, scoring 44 runs. Wriddhiman Saha (32) and Vivek Singh (27) made some valuable runs as well. Sukhmeet Singh with two wickets was the pick of the bowlers for Murshidabad.
Chasing the target, Murshidabad finished the game in 18.5 overs with five wickets remaining. Koushik Ghosh (45) top-scored while Aditya Purohit (28), Shuvam Dey (20), and Agniv Pan (20*) played vital knocks.
Therefore, Sobisco Smashers Malda and Murshidabad Kings will battle it out for the trophy in the Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 final.
Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 Most Runs List
Priyanshu Gaurav Srivastav retained his position at the top of the Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 with 345 runs from seven innings with a strike-rate of 134.24.
Writtick Chatterjee moved from second to third position with 321 runs from eight innings with a strike-rate of 142.04. Shabaz Ahmed dropped from second to third with 297 runs at an impressive strike-rate of 155.5.
With 224 runs from seven innings, averaging 108.21, Arindam Ghosh retained his position at number four on this list. Abhishek Porel jumped from seventh to fifth position with 215 runs from eight innings.
Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 Most Wickets List
Courtesy of his five-wicket haul, Mukesh Kumar took a massive stride to move from sixth to the top of the Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 wicket-takers list with 16 scalps from seven matches.
Vaibhav Yadav, with 15 wickets and an economy of 7.07, retained his second position on this list.
Saksham Chaudhary, also with 15 wickets, slipped from first to third position with an economy of 10.28. Geet Puri with 14 wickets is still in the fourth position while Nitin Verma with 12 wickets and a strike-rate of 11 also retained his fifth position.
