South African opener Quinton de Kock came up with yet another blistering knock during the team's 2023 World Cup contest against Bangladesh at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, October 24.

De Kock notched up his third century of the ongoing showpiece event, scoring 174 runs off 140 deliveries. The southpaw struck 15 fours and seven maximums during his stay at the crease.

It is worth mentioning that de Kock's 174 is the second-highest score by a South African batter in World Cup history, only behind Gary Kirsten's 188 against UAE in the 1996 World Cup.

A number of fans took to social media, lauding de Kock for his stunning batting exploits. Here are some of the best reactions:

It is worth mentioning that Quinton de Kock registered the highest individual score by a wicketkeeper in World Cups, surpassing Adam Gilchrist's incredible 149-run knock in the 2007 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.

Quinton de Kock formed partnerships with Markram and Klaasen to take South Africa to 382/5 vs Bangladesh

South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first against Bangladesh. However, they were off to a miserable start, with opener Reeza Hendricks and No. 3 Rassie van der Dussen South Africa falling cheaply.

Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram steadied the ship for their team, stitching together a 131-run stand for the second wicket. While Markram departed after scoring 60 runs, de Kock continued plundering the Bangladeshi bowlers.

The left-handed batter formed a scintillating partnership of 142 in just 87 balls with Heinrich Klaasen for the third wicket. Klaasen delivered an explosive knock, mustering 90 off 49 deliveries. David Miller was also exceptional in the death overs, chipping in with an unbeaten 34-run innings in 15 balls to help the side finish at 382/5 after 50 overs.

De Kock is currently the leading run-getter in the 2023 World Cup, having chalked up 407 runs in five outings at an average of 81.40.
