Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has opted for a new look at the start of 2025. The 30-year-old's wife Shruti Raghunathan shared a video on her Instagram story, giving fans a glimpse of the talented cricketer's fresh makeover.

Venkatesh, who usually prefers to keep a stubble, recently got rid of his facial hair. He changed things up, shaved off his beard, and just kept a mustache. To surprise his family, the Indore-based player entered his home, wearing a mask.

Sharing the video of Venkatesh's new look, Shruti wrote:

"Bro took new year new me very seriously."

Venkatesh Iyer and Shruti Raghunathan tied the knot on June 3, 2024, in a traditional South Indian ceremony. The couple is set to launch 'rushr' their skincare and supplements brand soon.

On the cricketing front, Venkatesh was in great demand at the IPL 2025 mega auction. His name sparked an intense bidding war at the Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, event. The left-handed batter was ultimately re-signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping ₹23.75 crore.

KKR are in search of a new skipper. The side parted ways with former captain Shreyas Iyer following their title-winning campaign in 2024. Venkatesh Iyer appears to be among the frontrunners for the leadership position.

After being re-signed by the three-time champions, Venkatesh said he would be ready to captain the team if given the opportunity. He was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times:

"I’ve always believed that captaincy is just a tag, but leadership is about creating an environment where everyone feels they can play for this team and contribute. If given the responsibility, I would be more than happy to take it on. Absolutely (I'm ready for it)."

Venkatesh Iyer scored 370 runs across 13 innings at a strike rate of 158.79 in IPL 2024. He played a stunning 51*-run knock in just 28 balls in the Qualifier 1 against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). He shone with the bat against SRH in the final as well, remaining unbeaten on 52 off 26 deliveries.
