Surrey are still in first position and have won five out of eight games. Essex are in second place and have four wins to their name in eight outings. Somerset have retained their place in third position and have won two out of eight matches. Durham have jumped to fourth place from fifth and have two wins to their name in eight matches.

Hampshire have slipped to fifth position from fourth and have recorded two wins in eight matches thus far. Nottinghamshire are still in sixth position and have managed one win in seven games.

Warwickshire are in seventh place and are yet to record their first win. Lancashire have jumped to eighth place from ninth and have won two out of eight matches. Worcestershire have moved to ninth position from eighth and have yet to win their first game. Kent are still in 10th position and have one win to their name in eight matches.

Durham took on Essex in the 36th match and elected to bat after winning the toss. Alex Lees and Ollie Robinson scored a century each in the first innings. They helped the team post a total of 587 runs. Essex made 339 runs in their first innings. Durham replied with 184 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the second innings and declared their innings. Essex made 208 runs for the loss of two wickets in the second innings and the match ended in a draw.

Kent scored 244 runs against Lancashire in the 37th match. In reply, Lancashire declared their innings on 549 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Luke Wells made 150 runs while Josh Bohannon scored 205 runs for Lancashire. Kent were bundled out for 222 runs and Lancashire won by an innings and 83 runs.

Nottinghamshire made 360 runs in the first innings against Somerset. Somerset were all out for 470 runs in the first innings. Nottinghamshire declared their innings on 425 runs for the loss of two wickets and the match ended in a draw.

The 39th match between Hampshire and Warwickshire ended in a draw. Warwickshire got a target of 498 runs and survived on 321 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Sam Hain made 111 runs and remained unbeaten in the second innings for Warwickshire.

Surrey made 490 runs in the first innings against Worcestershire in the 40th match. Worcestershire were bundled out for 212 runs in the first innings and were asked to follow on. Worcestershire were all out for 273 runs in the second innings and lost the match by an innings and five runs.
