Team India all-rounder Deepti Sharma has reached career-high rating points in the latest ICC women's ODI rankings for bowlers. The off-spinner picked up three wickets in the first two ODIs against New Zealand to get to 687 points and take the second spot.

She is now only behind England’s Sophie Ecclestone (770), who retained her No.1 spot. England’s Kate Cross and Australia speedster Megan Schutt dropped one spot to third and fourth respectively.

Deepti had also looked exceptional for the Women in Blue during the ODI series against South Africa in June when she picked up six wickets in three games.

Other significant movers among bowlers were Sophie Devine (up nine rungs to joint 30th), Lea Tahuhu (up three spots to 12th), and Melie Kerr (up one place to 13th).

Devine and Tahuhu scalped three wickets apiece in the second ODI against India, while Kerr returned with 4/42 in the series opener before getting ruled out due to an injury. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Josephine Nkomo rose 13 places to 32nd after an impressive effort against the USA.
