Delhi Premier League 2024 Most Runs and Most Wickets after Purani Dilli-6 vs South Delhi Superstarz (Updated) ft. Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni

The Delhi Premier League 2024 season kicked off on Saturday, August 17, with a high-scoring thriller between Purani Dilli-6 and South Delhi Superstars at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Purani Dilli-6 batted first and clobbered 197-3 in 20 overs. Opener Arpit Rana carved 59 from 41, while captain Rishabh Pant made a near run-a-ball 35. Lalit Yadav made an unbeaten 34 from 21, while wicketkeeper-batter Vansh Bedi exploded with a 19-ball 47* at the death. For South Delhi Superstarz, only Divij Mehra, Kunwar Bidhuri and captain Ayush Badoni picked up a wicket each.

In response, South Delhi Superstarz opener Priyansh Arya cracked a 30-ball 57 during his 87-run partnership with Sarthak Ray (41 off 26) in less than seven overs. Shivam Sharma led Purani Dilli’s fightback by removing both Superstarz openers.

Captain Badoni smacked six sixes in his 29-ball 57 before a flurry of wickets ensured that the Superstarz slipped from 152-1 to 183-7. Vision Panchal, batting at number eight, overcame late nerves to steer his team home in the final over with three wickets to spare.

After the opening day of action, Purani Dilli-6 opener Arpit Rana finds himself at the top of the Delhi Premier League 2024 runscoring charts with 59 runs. South Delhi Superstarz batters Ayush Badoni is second, while Priyansh Arya is third after a match-winning 57.

Vansh Bedi, with 47 runs, takes the fourth spot, while Sarthak Ray with 41 runs is fifth. Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav occupy the sixth and seventh positions for scoring 35 and 34 runs respectively. Vision Panchal (13 runs), Manjeet (13 runs) and Sumit Mathur (9 runs) round up the top-10.
