Dewald Brevis pulls off stunning boundary catch in JSK vs MICT SA20 2025 clash [Watch]

MI Cape Town's Dewald Brevis took a spectacular catch to dismiss Joburg Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis in the fourth match of the 2025 SA20. The game was held on Saturday, January 11, at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

The moment of brilliance came on the first ball of the eighth over of the Super Kings' innings. Kagiso Rabada bowled a full delivery outside off, and Faf du Plessis tried to loft it over the field. Brevis, stationed at deep cover, did exceptionally well to catch the ball as he moved back towards the boundary.

Although his momentum took him outside the rope, the 21-year-old tossed the ball into the air, jumped back inside the boundary, and completed a remarkable catch.

The 40-year-old scored 30 runs off 23 balls, including four boundaries and one six. The Joburg Super Kings' chase of 141 was interrupted by rain. Devon Conway made nine runs, while Jonny Bairstow contributed 14 off 14 balls. Leus du Plooy remained unbeaten on 24 from 23 balls.

At the time of the rain delay, the Super Kings were 82-3 after 11.3 overs. Faf du Plessis' side eventually secured a six-run victory under the DLS method.
