With the deadlock between the BCCI and the PCB broken, the International Cricket Council confirmed the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy earlier this month. The ODI tournament will take place from February 19 to March 9. Pakistan will host most of the matches across three venues in the country, even as India will play all their games in Dubai in a hybrid model.

A total of eight teams will be featuring in the 2025 Champions Trophy. The sides have been divided into two groups of four each. Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and New Zealand are part of Group A, while England, South Africa, Afghanistan and Australia feature in Group B. The semi-finals of the tournament will be played March 4 and March 5, with the final on March 9.

England will kick off their 2025 Champions Trophy campaign against Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 22. Their second match will be against Afghanistan, also in Lahore, on February 26. The Englishmen will conclude their group campaign against South Africa at the National Stadium in Karachi on March 1.

England have never won the ICC Champions Trophy. They have come close on a couple of occasions but finished runners-up both times. The Englishmen went down to the West Indies by two wickets in the 2004 final at The Oval. Batting first, they were held to 217 despite Marcus Trescothick's 104. The Windies got home courtesy of Courtney Browne (35*) and Ian Bradshaw (34*).

England then lost to India by five runs in the 2013 final. In a match reduced to 20 overs per side, India posted 129-7 batting first before holding the Englishmen to 124-8. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (33* and 2-24) was named the Player of the Match.
