India captain Rohit Sharma shared a heartwarming compilation video of his best and worst moments of 2024 on Instagram on Tuesday, December 31. The video consisted of some of the highs and lows that Sharma was part of, both on and off the cricket field.
He captioned the video:
"For all the ups & downs, and everything in between, Thank you 2024."

Some of the moments recorded in the video were that of India winning the T20 World Cup by beating South Africa in the final earlier this year, as well as Sharma welcoming his second child in November. Along with these highlights, the video also had a few moments of Sharma not having done well with the bat.
Sharma is currently in Australia, in charge of Team India, who recently lost the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to the hosts by 184 runs. Set an imposing target of 340 to chase in the fourth innings, the Indian batting imploded and were all out for 155, with only Yashasvi Jaiswal stirring some hope with 82 runs.
Rohit Sharma is going through a lean run of form
Sharma is going through a lean run of form at the moment, and his place in the side would almost certainly have been in question had he not been the captain. In the five innings he has played so far in Australia, he has reached double figures just once. His scores Down Under read: 3, 6, 10, 3 and 9.
Before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Sharma had scores of 2, 52, 0, 8, 18 and 11 in the home series against New Zealand. Under his leadership, India lost a Test series at home for the first time to the Kiwis. Quite naturally, along with his batting, Sharma's leadership skills too have been questioned recently.
This has been exacerbated all the more given that India are trailing the Kangaroos 1-2 in the ongoing series, and look all but certain to miss out on a place in the World Test Championship next year. Star batter Virat Kohli too has not had a good run of form in Australia, averaging a lowly 27.83 in the ongoing series.
