Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana has come out in support of the team's head coach Gautam Gambhir after Manoj Tiwary's controversial comments. Rana felt that no one should criticize Gautam due to personal insecurities because he always thought about others more than himself.

Earlier today (January 9), former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Manoj Tiwary's comments from an interview with News18 Bangla went viral on social media. Tiwary claimed that Gambhir was a hypocrite because he did not do what he said. He even mentioned that the credit for KKR's 2012 and 2014 IPL wins went to Gambhir despite the contributions from others.

While Harshit Rana did not mention or name Tiwary on his Instagram story, here's what he wrote:

"Critcising someone due to personal insecurities is not good. Gauti bhaiya is someone who thinks more for others than himself. He always backs players when they are down and put them in limelight when things go our way. He has shown this on multiple occasions. He has a lot of knowledge on how to turn games in your favor."

Even former Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana has expressed strong support for Gambhir on X, saying that criticism should be based on facts, not personal insecurities.

Gambhir is under fire from a lot of quarters following India's 1-3 loss in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

Manoj Tiwary breaks silence after controversial comments on Gautam Gambhir

As mentioned earlier, the comments from Tiwary went viral on the internet quickly. Along with active cricketers like Harshit Rana and Nitish Rana, quite a few fans also sent a message to Tiwary directly or indirectly. The former Indian batter urged fans to watch his full interview.

Tiwary wrote in his tweet that he was open to answering all the questions which the fans had about his latest interview.

"Before taggin me and sharing your opinions on what I said about Gautam Gambhir and what’s happening with the team India. Go through this interview and get it translated and then come back and have a debate with me. I’m ready to answer all the queries," he wrote.

The former KKR player also dropped the link of the video and urged fans to get the comments translated if they didn't understand the language.
