A graphic of young Australian debutant Sam Konstas naming ace India batter Virat Kohli as his all-time favorite Indian cricketer is doing the rounds. The 19-year-old made his international debut in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday, December 26.

Konstas replaced Nathan McSweeney in the playing XI for the Boxing Day Test. The right-handed opener was an immediate hit, scoring a blistering half-century (60 off 65 balls) to get his side off to a strong start.

Soon after his brilliant debut, a graphic of the Australian cricketer went viral on social media. In a 7Cricket graphic, Sam Konstas was asked to pick his favorite Indian cricketer. Without hesitation, he said (via Mufaddal Vohra's X):

"Virat Kohli. What he does is truly remarkable."

The revelation comes after Konstas had a heated exchange with Virat Kohli during his knock at the MCG. The former India skipper barged into the batter's shoulder while passing by him in between overs. It led to a verbal battle before the umpires intervened to calm things down.

The New South Wales man had a breathtaking debut in front of a packed MCG. He took on World No. 1 Jasprit Bumrah, hitting him for 34 runs in his opening spell, including an 18-run over.

Sam Konstas smashed six boundaries and two sixes for his 60 off 65 balls and gave the Aussies an excellent start in the all-important Test. In the process, he became the second-youngest Australian cricketer to score a Test fifty, doing it at the age of 19 years and 85 days. Ian Craig is the youngest to achieve the feat, scoring the first fifty at the age of 17 years and 239 days.

Sam Konstas reveals what he had for breakfast today

In the same graphic, Konstas also revealed that he is more of a breakfast person rather than going out at night. The youngster added that he had an avocado, two poached eggs, and an orange juice for breakfast before his Test debut.

He also named American singer and songwriter Bruno Mars as the most-played artist on his Spotify account. He also said that he likes to arrive in style if he knows he's going to be late for any flight.
