England batter Harry Brook continued his remarkable form in Test cricket by smashing a scintillating century on Day 3 (October 9) of the opening Test against Pakistan in Multan. It was Brook's sixth Test century in only his 31st innings for England.
Furthermore, it was his fourth Test century in Pakistan in only six innings, drawing level for the most centuries by an overseas batter in Pakistan with Mohinder Amarnath and Aravinda de Silva.
After England conceded a massive 556 to Pakistan over the first two days, they responded in style with the bat on Day 3. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett scored solid half-centuries after which Brook joined Joe Root with England on 249/3 in the 50th over.
The duo put on an unbeaten double-century partnership to propel England to touching distance of the Pakistan total.
Meanwhile, Brook smashed three centuries in England's previous tour of Pakistan in 2022, including one in the same venue (Multan). His heroics helped them complete a a 3-0 whitewash on Pakistan.
The youngster averages a sensational 58.58 with 1,699 runs in his 19-Test career with six centuries and nine half-centuries.

Harry Brook and Joe Root smash centuries to put England on top in 1st Pakistan Test
The English batters produced a memorable performance with the bat on Day 3 of the first Test against Pakistan. Starting the day on 96/1 in response to the hosts' first innings total of 556, Joe Root and Zak Crawley brought up their 100-run second wicket partnership before the latter fell on 78.
Batting at No.4, Ben Duckett stitched another century-partnership with Root as England reached a dominant 249/3 when the former was dismissed for 84. Unfortunately for Pakistan, that was their last bit of joy on a torrid day and a flat Multan pitch.
Harry Brook joined Root and the duo added an unbeaten 243 runs for the fourth wicket to ensure England finished in the ascendency at 292/3 at stumps on Day 3.
During the day, Root also reached his 35th Test century (6th all-time) and moved past Sir Alastair Cook to become England's all-time leading run-scorer in Tests with 12,578 (5th all-time).
