“He’s the guy” - Rio Ferdinand lavishes praise on Indian cricket legend 

Former English footballer Rio Ferdinand lavished praise on Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Appearing on the TRS (The Ranveer Show) podcast, hosted by famous YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Rio spoke about Sachin when he was asked if he remembers any Indian cricketer.

He immediately took the name of Sachin Tendulkar. He stated that Tendulkar is the main name, stating that the Indian legend stood out to him. Rio also described the former Indian batter as the most charismatic.

"Tendulkar. He's the guy, innit? Tendulkar is the guy. That's the main name. I don't know many but Tendulkar always just stood out to be as the most charismatic," he said.

Ferdinand went on to add that Tendulkar achieved worldwide recognition and that everyone hears his name apart from cricket fans as well. Praising the Indian legend, he said that Tendulkar's achievements and recognition transcends the sport.

"What he achieved as well was like, that was worldwide recognition. It's not just cricket fans that hear about someone like him. And that's someone that transcends the sport," he added.

Sachin Tendulkar established himself as one of the legends of the game with his consistent and stellar performances for several years. The right-handed batter ensured to put India's name among the top cricketing nations with his batting.

He amassed 15921 runs in Test matches, including 51 hundreds and 68 half-centuries. In the ODI format, he accumulated 18426 runs, slamming 49 hundreds and 96 fifties.

He was arguably one of the most complete batters. Tendulkar became a global sporting icon and an inspirational figure across the world with his record-breaking performances.

Rio Ferdinand also mentioned Virat Kohli's name. However, he misspelled Kohli's name, calling him 'Kola'. Ranveer was quick enough to correct him saying it is Kohli and not Kola.
