The highly-anticipated Hong Kong Sixes 2024 is set to return after a gap of seven years and will be played from Friday, November 1 to Sunday, November 3. The tournament will boast a unique format with six players allowed to take the field from each team.
A total of 12 nations will participate in the Hong Kong Sixes 2024 and are divided into four groups. South Africa, New Zealand, and Hong Kong are a part of Group A. Group B comprises Australia, England, and Nepal. India, Pakistan, and UAE comprise Group C while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Oman are in Group D.
The format includes six-over innings with exciting, fast-paced rules. Each team plays five overs, and bowlers are limited to one over each, with six balls per over. Wides and no-balls count for two runs. If a batter scores a certain number of runs, they must retire but can return only if the other batters are either out or retired.
If a team loses five wickets, the last standing batter may continue, with the last dismissed batter remaining as the permanent non-striker. Therefore, a team must take six wickets to bowl the opposition out completely.
Robin Uthappa, Kedar Jadhav, Todd Astle, Faheem Ashraf, Dan Christian, and Shadab Khan are some of the big names at the Hong Kong Sixes 2024.
