Indian skipper Rohit Sharma received an emotional note from his wife Ritika Sajdeh after the Men in Blue's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. Ritika mentioned that she was incredibly proud of her better half's achievement and praised him for constantly considering the team's betterment.

She highlighted how much Rohit valued the T20 format, his teammates, and the World Cup trophy. Ritika emphasized that watching the Indian captain strive hard to guide the side to an ICC title was an emotional and inspirational journey for her.

Taking to her official Instagram handle on Monday, July 1, Ritika wrote:

"Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey and this entire process of getting what you’ve always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind and body but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring."

Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is after India's seven-run win over South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final in Barbados on Saturday, June 29. While Ritika was delighted with the result of the showpiece event, she seemed heartbroken to see the star batter bid adieu to T20Is.

Sharing her thoughts on Rohit's T20I retirement, Ritika added:

"As your wife, I am immensely proud of what you’ve achieved and the impact you’ve had on this game and the people who love it; but as someone who loves your game I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind. I know you’ve thought long and hard about what’s best for this team but that doesn’t make watching you leave that part of it behind any easier. I love you so much and I am so incredibly proud to call you mine!"

It is worth mentioning that along with Rohit Sharma, senior players Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja also announced their retirement from T20Is following the 2024 T20 World Cup win.

"I’m basking in a dream come true for a billion of us" - Rohit Sharma on India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph

Rohit Sharma seemed visibly emotional after Team India's 2024 T20 World Cup victory as he was seen shedding tears of joy. He shared a picture of himself lying on the field to describe his feelings about the team's achievement.

The 37-year-old wrote:

"This picture epitomises how I’m feeling right now. So many words but can’t find the right ones to express what yesterday meant to me but I will, and I will share them, but right now I’m basking in a dream come true for a billion of us."

India became the first-ever team to win the men's T20 World Cup unbeaten. They registered 176/7 in 20 overs, courtesy of Virat Kohli's 76 and important knocks from Axar Patel (47) and Shivam Dube (27).

South Africa gave Rohit Sharma and company a tough fight in the run chase. However, they ultimately fell short, finishing at 169/8 after 20 overs. Hardik Pandya bagged three scalps, while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets apiece.
