Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Parvez Rasool has surprisingly claimed that the Dhaka Premier League of Bangladesh is tougher than the IPL. Having played in both tournaments, Rasool gave an explanation about the same as well.

Parvez Rasool is a Jammu and Kashmir-based spin-bowling all-rounder, who has had stints with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pune Warriors and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL. Rasool played his last IPL match for RCB in the 2016 season.

After going unsold at the IPL Auctions, Rasool opted to play in the Dhaka League, which was held during the same time as the IPL. In an appearance on Off Script by WJ, Rasool said:

"I played five years in Bangladesh, Dhaka League. I rate Dhaka league tougher than IPL. I played IPL also. I played Dhaka League also. Tougher why I told you because in IPL you get a contract, right. You get selected and then whether you play or not, you get a contract."
"So it depends on the team, if you are doing good, if you are not doing good in 1 or 2 matches, then you get dropped and stay with the team. But when you play in Dhaka League, altogether, there is a lot of pressure. Why? Because they are giving you a two-match contract only," the former RCB star added.

Rasool further mentioned that teams have sent back some big names home from the Dhaka League after they could not perform well in the competition.

"If you do well in two matches, then you go on. If you fail, you get your return ticket after third match. I won't take any names, but there have been some big players, who played and were sent back after 2-3 matches," Rasool concluded.

Former RCB player Parvez Rasool has not played international cricket after 2017

Rasool has played only one T20I and one ODI match for India. He made his ODI debut for India on June 15, 2014 during the away series against Bangladesh in Mirpur. Three years later, Rasool received his maiden T20I cap for the series opener against England at home.

Although Rasool took two wickets on ODI debut and one wicket on T20I debut, he never got a second game in any format. His last professional cricket appearance came on December 23, 2023 for Badureliya Sports Club in Sri Lanka.
