ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings after Hong Kong vs Kuwait, Match 21

Singapore beat Myanmar by eight wickets in the first match of the day in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A 2024 on Monday (September 9). With the win, Singapore stayed fourth in the table with eight points and a net run rate of +3.141 after winning four out of six matches.

Myanmar, on the other hand, kept struggling at sixth with a net run rate of -3.712, having lost three matches in a row.

Malaysia beat Mongolia by 10 wickets in the second match of the day. From third, Malaysia jumped to the top of the table with 10 points and a net run rate of +2.612 courtesy of wins in five out of six matches. Mongolia, in the meantime, lost six matches on the trot and stayed at the bottom.

The third match of the day between Hong Kong and Kuwait did not produce a result. Kuwait dropped one place down to second with nine points and a net rate of 5.053. Hong Kong also went a place down to third with nine points and a net run rate of 4.945.

Singapore, Malaysia secure hammering wins in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A

Singapore dominated Myanmar to rack up a massive win. After opting to bowl first, they bowled their opponents out for 45 in 17.5 overs. Harsha Bharadwaj was the pick of their bowlers with figures of 4-2-8-4. Ramesh Kalimuthu and Aryaveer Chaudhary accounted for two scalps apiece. Singapore chased down the target with 15.2 overs left.

Malaysia did not give Mongolia much breathing space either. After fielding first, they bowled the Mongolians out for 31 in 16.1 overs. Virandeep Singh returned with figures of 4-1-5-4. Malaysia romped past the finish line in only 2.1 overs.

In another clash, Hong Kong scored 139 for nine on the back of Babar Hayat’s 42-run knock. When Kuwait were at 11 for two in four overs, rain halted proceedings once and for all.
