Team India skipper Rohit Sharma continued his dismal run in Tests with another low score on Day 3 (Sunday, November 3) of the third Test against New Zealand in Mumbai. With India chasing 147 for a consolation win, Rohit started aggressively, racing to 11 off 10 deliveries.

However, a rush of blood saw the 37-year-old play a pull shot to a ball not that short to be dismissed for a run-a-ball 11. It meant a ninth innings in 10 stints for Rohit without a half-century in Tests despite all the games being played at home.

The opening batter averages only 13.30 in this five-match Test stretch against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Rohit's latest dismissal left fans on X fuming with the following reactions:

Fans continued slamming Rohit for his continued struggles with one saying:

"Rohit sharma again failed. which Ind player in past hd been so pathetic flopped continuously for so long and retained in team. Rohit sharma doesn't deserve place in test. he hs been given extraordinarily long rope."
"Oh please. Rohit Sharma is not one of the ‘big two’ in tests. Stop glorifying Rohit Sharma in all formats. He was never a test great," tweeted a fan.
"If Rohit Sharma doesn’t retire from Test Cricket, I will always be rooting for the opposition from here onwards. No matter which team is playing against us. Clueless captaincy and worst batting," a fan said.

Rohit Sharma's dismissal leads to another Indian batting collapse

Rohit Sharma's dismissal led to another Indian batting collapse - a common theme in the ongoing New Zealand series. From 13/1 when Rohit fell, the hosts were reduced to an embarrassing 29/5 in only the eighth over.

Their top-scorer from the first innings, Shubman Gill was cleaned up without offering a shot to left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel. Virat Kohli followed soon, edging one to slip off the same bowler to leave India reeling at 18/3.

The horror show did not stop there, as Yashasvi Jaiswal was trapped LBW by off-spinner Glenn Phillips before Patel continued his excellent outing with the wicket of Sarfaraz Khan.

With a home series whitewash looming, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have steadied the ship and taken India to 59/5 in 14 overs with a partnership of 30 from 41 deliveries. India still need another 88 runs to complete a face-saving win and end the series with a 1-2 defeat.
